This role places you at the forefront of supply chain and production processes, where you’ll audit packaging, maintain documentation, and collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements. Attention to Detail: You identify packaging issues, labeling errors, and process gaps before they impact operations.
Analytical Thinking: You leverage data, root-cause analysis, and KPIs to improve packaging and logistics processes.
Communication Excellence: You work effectively with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
Reliability & Ownership: You take responsibility for tracking, documentation, and follow-through on packaging initiatives.
Technical Competence: You are proficient in Excel, CAD, SAP, and other packaging/logistics systems, and comfortable managing complex datasets.
Responsibilities & Daily Expectations
Audit inbound component packaging and labeling for compliance with internal Pack Spec guidelines and supplier standards.
Use internal systems, including PFEP, Shipping Label Tracker, Packaging Compliance Tracker, and logistics KPIs to support reporting and analysis.
Maintain and improve packaging documentation (databases, drawings, photos) for accurate record-keeping.
Support supplier corrective actions by documenting packaging trials, evaluating feasibility for warehouse and production line use, and tracking outcomes.
Assist in developing and implementing packaging strategies for existing components and new product introductions.
Identify potential packaging improvements or issues, particularly for pre-production packaging.
Support kitting, repackaging, and deviation request processes, ensuring accurate tracking and timely completion.
Investigate inbound packaging damage and propose corrective and preventive actions.
Develop dashboards and reporting for internal stakeholders and leadership.
Collaborate with packaging engineers on prototype reviews and sample assessments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams across logistics, manufacturing, and engineering.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field, OR 1–2 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience in logistics operations, supply chain, SAP, and automotive manufacturing.
Knowledge of expendable/returnable packaging, shipping labeling, lean manufacturing principles, warehouse processes, and line-side operations.
Familiarity with CAD and technical drawings.
Strong proficiency in Excel and standard reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Packaging Engineering degree (especially automotive focus)
Experience in Food Science, Medical Device, or Automotive industries
Knowledge of Pack Spec portals, shipping/labeling software, or barcode symbology
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
