About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Technician to support our client’s Manufacturing Engineering team in a hands-on production environment. In this role, you’ll help investigate vehicle quality issues, perform root cause analysis, document findings, and communicate insights that support ongoing improvements across vehicle quality and manufacturing processes.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation in mechanical and electrical systems who enjoys cross-functional problem-solving and structured troubleshooting. You’ll work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Corporate Quality, and Supplier Quality teams, while helping improve documentation, inspection standards, and quality training materials in support of a cutting-edge autonomous vehicle program.

Responsibilities

  • Read technical drawings and CAD models to understand part design and intended assembly.

  • Investigate vehicle and manufacturing quality issues using a structured, technical approach.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform root cause analysis and identify corrective actions.

  • Develop and document troubleshooting techniques to support ongoing quality improvement efforts.

  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to identify trends and communicate recurring quality concerns.

  • Create, maintain, and update quality documentation, procedures, and related process materials.

  • Develop training materials covering inspections, quality standards, and quality alerts.

  • Record findings clearly and communicate important technical information to relevant partners.

  • Support quality-related initiatives tied to vehicle builds, assemblies, and manufacturing workflows.

  • Travel to the Fremont worksite as needed to support team and operational needs.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree with 4–6 years of experience as a Quality Technician, or High School Diploma/GED with 6–8 years of experience as a Quality Technician.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand CAD models.

  • Broad technical background in mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis.

  • Ability to read PFMEA and Control Plans.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, in-person environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

  • 3+ years of technician experience in automotive manufacturing.

  • Experience building test equipment.

  • Experience supporting quality processes in a manufacturing or vehicle production setting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $43.75/hour

  • Benefits: TBD

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with occasional overtime)
• Travel: Local travel to Fremont as needed to support operations
