About the Role

We’re hiring an Inventory & Procurement Specialist to support the parts, purchasing, and inventory operations behind complex humanoid robot builds in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You’ll own critical processes that help ensure the right parts are available, accurately tracked, and ready when engineering and build teams need them.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a fast-moving prototype-to-production environment. You’ll work closely with engineering, build, and maintenance teams to maintain accurate bills of materials, manage procurement from order through receipt, support multiple concurrent builds, and continuously improve the systems used to track inventory and materials.

Bias for Action: You identify what needs attention and move quickly to resolve shortages, supplier issues, or process gaps.

Supplier Partnership: You communicate clearly with vendors and stay on top of lead times, orders, and material availability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: You work effectively with engineering, build, and maintenance teams to understand needs and keep production moving.

Process Improvement Mindset: You look for practical ways to improve inventory tracking, procurement workflows, and material organization as the operation scales.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bills of materials across multiple product revisions, including part traceability and revision control as designs evolve.

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including purchasing, order tracking, expediting, receiving, and inventory organization.

• Track material availability across concurrent prototype and production builds.

• Support monthly production goals by identifying shortages, monitoring part availability, and helping ensure materials are ready when needed.

• Maintain traceability across part revisions, purchase orders, lots, and order history.

• Design, implement, and continuously improve inventory management processes and systems.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with domestic and international suppliers.

• Monitor supplier lead times and proactively address material availability risks.

• Partner with engineering, build, and maintenance teams to improve procurement, inventory, and production workflows.

• Maintain accurate and organized stockroom and inventory records.

• Support a fast-moving robotics environment where designs and build requirements may evolve quickly.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, supply chain, materials coordination, or production coordination, or a related degree combined with relevant experience.

• Hands-on experience owning and maintaining bills of materials.

• Experience tracking parts across multiple product revisions and concurrent hardware builds.

• Strong procurement experience, including purchasing, order tracking, expediting, receiving, and lead-time management.

• Experience working with domestic and/or international suppliers.

• Experience building or operating practical inventory management systems using ERP/MRP platforms, digital tools, spreadsheets, Kanban, or similar methods.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Clear written and verbal communication.

• Ability to take ownership and work proactively in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting robotics or other complex electromechanical hardware.

• Experience working in a prototype-to-production environment.

• Experience supporting multiple concurrent hardware builds.

• Experience managing inventory as designs and part revisions change.

• Experience partnering directly with engineering, production, build, or maintenance teams.

• Experience developing or improving inventory and procurement processes as an organization scales.

Compensation & Logistics

• Pay: $42.00–$55.00 per hour

• Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts

• Work setup: Onsite

• Schedule: Full time

• Hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
