About the Role

We’re hiring an AV Shift Supervisor to lead a team of vehicle operators in a fast-paced, in-person fleet operations environment. This is a hands-on, player-coach leadership role where you will help the team execute daily operational work safely, consistently, and to a high standard while also supporting short- and long-term shift goals.

This role is well suited for someone who leads from the front, communicates clearly, and knows how to balance team accountability with day-to-day support and coaching. You’ll work closely with fleet operations leadership and contractors, support testing activities in and out of vehicles, and help keep shift execution organized, safe, and on track.

Core Attributes

Safety Leadership: You model safe decision-making and reinforce safety expectations in daily operations.
Hands-On Ownership: You are willing to jump into operational work directly and lead by example on shift.
Team Accountability: You can set expectations clearly, coach performance, and address gaps directly.
Operational Discipline: You keep processes, schedules, and shift execution organized and consistent.
Technical Curiosity: You ask questions, learn systems quickly, and build strong working knowledge of operational tools.
Communication Clarity: You share updates, feedback, and direction in a way that helps the team execute well.
Coaching Mindset: You help operators improve through practical guidance, support, and real-time feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a safety-first, inclusive, and open-communication culture on shift

  • Supervise and support vehicle operators in day-to-day operational work

  • Help ensure procedures, standards, and shift expectations are followed consistently

  • Complete administrative work related to team coordination, scheduling, and shift validation

  • Provide regular written and verbal performance feedback to direct reports

  • Build subject matter expertise in client vehicle operations software and systems

  • Motivate, mentor, and guide team members to meet performance and safety expectations

  • Serve as a point of contact for contractors and help ensure clarity around assigned work

  • Support operational missions in a variety of roles, both in and out of vehicles

  • Partner closely with other fleet operations leaders to support safe, efficient shift execution

  • Step into operator responsibilities as needed to support the team and the mission

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership
