About the Role

Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Technician to support the preparation of autonomous vehicles for deployment by completing standardized hardware installation, assembly, and validation work. This is a hands-on, in-person role for someone who enjoys working with mechanical and electrical systems and takes pride in completing precise, repeatable work.

You’ll install and secure hardware components, route wiring, perform system power-up procedures, conduct quality checks, and document completed work. You’ll also communicate installation issues or concerns to supervisors and engineering teams so they can be reviewed and addressed as manufacturing operations scale.

Core Attributes

Mechanical Aptitude: You are comfortable working around vehicles, mechanical assemblies, hardware, and basic electrical components.

Attention to Detail: You consistently notice alignment, routing, fitment, workmanship, and documentation details that can affect installation quality.

Process Discipline: You can follow documented work instructions and standard operating procedures consistently without skipping required steps.

Hands-On Problem Awareness: You recognize when something does not look, fit, or function as expected and know when to escalate rather than improvise.

Quality Mindset: You take ownership of producing accurate, safe, repeatable work and completing required inspections along the way.

Clear Communication: You document completed work accurately and communicate problems or concerns effectively to supervisors and engineering partners.

Team Orientation: You work well alongside technicians, supervisors, and engineering teams in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute documented installation procedures and work instructions on assigned vehicles.

  • Mount, align, and secure hardware and component groups according to engineering specifications.

  • Perform system power-up procedures and validate hardware functionality.

  • Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the installation process.

  • Accurately document completed work.

  • Communicate installation issues, defects, or concerns to supervisors or engineering teams.

  • Follow established standard operating procedures and workflows.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and report opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications for Success

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience with hardware assembly, installation, mechanical work, or another hands-on technical environment.

  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to follow technical instructions and standardized procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and assembly documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Aerospace or aviation assembly experience.

  • Previous technician experience involving mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Autonomous vehicle operations or software testing experience combined with prior technician or significant hands-on mechanical experience.

  • Significant personal hands-on technical experience, such as building project vehicles or assembling custom computers.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $34.00–$40.00 USD per hour.

  • Employment type: Full-time contract.

Working Environment

  • Location: San Francisco, California.

  • Work environment: In-person / onsite.
