About the Role

Our client is seeking an Assembly Technician to support our client’s autonomous vehicle hardware manufacturing operations in San Francisco. In this hands-on role, you’ll build and prepare sensor modules, hardware kits, cable harnesses, and related components used in advanced autonomous vehicle technology systems.

You’ll work from detailed assembly instructions, diagrams, and schematics while performing quality checks and preparing completed hardware for validation and system bring-up. This role is well suited for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys precise, hands-on work with mechanical and electrical components in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sensor modules, hardware kits, cable harnesses, and related components according to documented procedures.

• Follow assembly instructions, diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to complete accurate builds.

• Perform visual inspections and quality checks throughout the assembly process.

• Use hand tools and basic assembly equipment safely and effectively.

• Identify and report damaged, missing, or non-conforming components.

• Label, organize, and prepare completed hardware kits for handoff to validation and system bring-up teams.

• Maintain accurate production and inventory records as required.

• Support inventory organization and material-handling activities.

• Keep workstations, tools, and shop areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

• Follow established quality, safety, and production procedures.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience performing hardware assembly, manufacturing, production, or comparable hands-on technical work.

• Comfortable using hand tools and basic assembly equipment.

• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and technical documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.

• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in automotive repair, automotive electronics installation, aerospace or aviation assembly, or a similar hands-on technical environment.

• Automotive trade school or related technical training.

• Experience reading diagrams or schematics.

• Experience assembling cable harnesses, electrical components, sensor hardware, or similar equipment.

• Previous technician experience supporting autonomous vehicle operations or software testing.

• Significant hands-on mechanical or electronics experience outside of work, such as building project vehicles or custom computers.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $34.00–$40.00 USD per hour.

Working Environment

• Location: San Francisco, California.

• Work environment: In-person / onsite.

• Employment schedule: Full-time, typically 30+ hours per week.

• Assignment type: Contract.

• Initial training: Approximately two weeks, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM.

• Post-training AM shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, PM shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

This position supports the hands-on assembly and preparation of hardware used in autonomous vehicle technology systems. The work involves mechanical and electrical components that move through assembly, inspection, validation, and system bring-up processes.
