About the Role

We’re hiring a Robotics Pilot to support hands-on robotics data collection in San Francisco. In this role, you’ll operate robotic arms to perform repetitive manipulation tasks involving everyday objects while capturing and labeling the high-quality data used to train AI and robotics models.

You’ll work in an onsite lab environment alongside engineering and research teams, helping monitor data quality, identify issues, maintain equipment, and keep daily data collection running smoothly. This role is a strong fit for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable with repetitive hands-on work, and able to maintain focus and consistency throughout an eight-hour shift.

Core Attributes

Operational Consistency: You can perform repetitive tasks accurately and maintain the same level of focus and quality throughout a full shift.

Attention to Detail: You notice data quality issues, inconsistencies, and equipment concerns and communicate them clearly.

Hands-On Comfort: You enjoy working directly with physical equipment and everyday objects in a structured lab environment.

Reliability: You show up prepared, follow established procedures, and can be counted on to complete assigned data collection work consistently.

Positive Work Ethic: You bring a constructive attitude to repetitive work and remain engaged throughout the day.

Process Discipline: You can follow task instructions carefully while maintaining accurate data labeling and organized workflows.

Team Communication: You communicate observations and issues clearly to engineers, researchers, and other team members supporting the operation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate robotic arms to complete manipulation tasks such as sorting, assembling, and moving everyday objects.

  • Perform repetitive hands-on activities designed to generate training data for AI and robotics models.

  • Capture and label data, including video, sensor readings, and 3D scans.

  • Review collected data for quality and consistency.

  • Identify data or operational issues and communicate findings to the appropriate engineering or research team members.

  • Follow established procedures to support consistent and accurate data collection.

  • Maintain lab hardware, equipment, and work areas.

  • Help keep daily robotics data collection operations safe, organized, and efficient.

  • Use spreadsheets, Google Docs, and related productivity tools to support documentation and data organization.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to remain focused and perform repetitive hands-on tasks for an eight-hour shift.

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including carrying a 5-pound backpack for extended periods.

  • Comfort handling everyday household objects as part of robotics training activities.

  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and Google Docs.

  • Strong reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to follow established procedures.

  • Ability to work onsite in San Francisco, California.

  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in data collection, data labeling, testing, quality assurance, operations, manufacturing, robotics, or another process-driven environment.

  • Experience working with hardware, technical equipment, or structured operational workflows.

  • Familiarity with AI, robotics, or technology-focused environments.

  • Experience documenting issues or communicating observations to technical teams.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Pay: $28.00–$31.00 per hour

  • Location: San Francisco, California

  • Work setup: Onsite

  • Schedule: Full time

  • Available shifts: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.–1:00 a.m

  • Physical requirements: Repetitive hands-on work for extended periods and ability to carry a 5-pound backpack for up to eight hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
