Job description
If you're a hands-on technician with solid diagnostic skills and a safety-first mindset, this role places you at the core of autonomous and electric vehicle fleet operations. We’re looking for steady, detail-oriented professionals who can diagnose, repair, and maintain advanced vehicle systems—mechanical, electrical, and autonomous—while supporting a fast-moving fleet environment.
Candidates may express interest in the Japan assignment, the U.S.-based role, or both. We screen for all three pathways.
This opportunity begins with a short-term assignment supporting vehicle operations in Japan, followed by continued long-term employment in the United States. Experience with EV platforms (Ford Mach-E, Nissan Ariya) or exposure to autonomous systems is highly valued. Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
Core Attributes & What You Bring
You thrive in environments where precision, accountability, and technical depth matter. Key strengths include:
A strong safety-first mindset and disciplined approach to technical work
Training in automotive technology or mechatronics (Level 2 or equivalent)
Diagnostic capability across mechanical, electrical, and system-level components
Experience working from OEM repair manuals and technical documentation
Familiarity with EV/AV platforms — sensors, cameras, compute units, high-voltage components
Clear communication with operations, drivers, and engineering teams
Reliable documentation habits for tracking faults, repairs, and system behaviors
Professionalism, consistency, and a steady presence in a dynamic environment
Japanese language skills are beneficial but not required
Responsibilities & Daily Expectations
As an Autonomous Vehicle Technician, you will ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for real-world testing.
You will:
Perform diagnostics and repairs on autonomous and electric vehicles
Conduct routine inspections, system checks, and preventive maintenance
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical issues using diagnostic tools
Complete repairs based on OEM service procedures and component guidelines
Document issues found and resolution steps clearly in internal systems
Partner with drivers to validate concerns and confirm repairs
Maintain fleet cleanliness and operational readiness for demos and testing cycles
Uphold all safety protocols, risk assessments, and proper handling procedures
Support engineering and operations teams with field-level insights
