As a Field Operations Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role maintaining, troubleshooting, and recovering autonomous vehicles in real-world environments. This work blends technical skill, problem-solving, and safe driving to keep every route running smoothly.

Your role and responsibilities
As a Field Operations Technician, you will:

  • Troubleshoot, reboot, and service autonomous vehicle systems in the field.

  • Use Android-based and laptop tools to issue diagnostic commands and reset modules.

  • Operate a company vehicle safely to assist and recover autonomous vehicles during daily operations.

  • Follow safety and recovery protocols when securing or transporting vehicles.

  • Record findings, complete system logs, and communicate issues to operations teams.

  • Interact professionally with engineers, field partners, and occasionally the public.

  • Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and ensure equipment is ready for each shift.

  • Operate safely in all field conditions, document issues accurately, and report findings promptly.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in IT support, mobile repair, or field technician work.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and 2+ years of driving experience.

  • Comfortable using Android OS, laptops, and mobile diagnostic tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

  • Able to work outdoors, drive for extended periods, and travel across the Dallas area.

Preferred qualifications

  • Defensive Driving Certificate (issued within the last 12 months).

  • Previous experience in roadside assistance, rideshare, or customer-facing field roles.

  • Technical training or certifications in automotive technology or IT systems.


Work details

  • Full-time, field-based position based in Dallas, TX.

  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, or overnight hours depending on operational needs.
