About the Role

Do you enjoy hands-on work with vehicles, electrical systems, and advanced automotive technology? Our client is hiring Autonomous Vehicle Technicians to support the retrofit, integration, and production of autonomous vehicle platforms in Austin, Texas.

In this role, you’ll work directly on vehicle builds by installing sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and other custom autonomous vehicle hardware. You’ll also troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, complete hardware updates and rework, and help ensure every build is completed consistently and to a high standard.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with automotive, EV, retrofit, or related technical experience who enjoys solving problems and working in a fast-paced, team-based production environment.

Responsibilities – Daily Expectations for Your Role

• Install and integrate sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and custom autonomous vehicle hardware.

• Execute vehicle retrofits and system integrations with a focus on quality and throughput.

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues during vehicle build processes.

• Perform hardware updates, rework, and build corrections as needed.

• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable builds.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams.

• Maintain tools, inventory, and clear documentation of work performed.

• Help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production environment.

Qualifications for Success – What It Takes

Minimum Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in automotive service, vehicle retrofit, EV-related work, or a similar technical environment.

• Proficiency using mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, high-throughput production environment.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on vehicles for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electric or autonomous vehicle systems.

• Familiarity with sensor integration, including LiDAR, radar, or cameras.

• Experience working with low-voltage and high-voltage systems, connectors, and electronic modules.

• Experience in automotive service, vehicle retrofit, or a similar technical field.

• Soldering, crimping, or basic fabrication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour

• Location: Austin, Texas

• Work setup: Fully onsite

• Schedule: Full time

• Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on vehicles for extended periods
