About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electric Vehicle & Robotics Systems Technician to support the build, maintenance, and operation of modified vehicles and robotic systems.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX, offering the opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge automotive and robotics technology in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you’ll blend mechanical, electrical, and field support work while helping ensure systems are safe, reliable, and ready for deployment.

We’re looking for technicians who are detail-oriented, technically curious, and comfortable working with evolving hardware in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities – Daily Expectations for Your Role

  • Install and integrate sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and custom hardware

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on vehicle and robotic platforms

  • Perform preventative maintenance, retrofits, and hardware updates

  • Support field deployments with on-site service, troubleshooting, and hardware swaps

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support testing and prototyping efforts

  • Maintain tools, inventory, and accurate documentation of repairs and procedures

  • Ensure workspaces and equipment remain safe, organized, and operational

Qualifications for Success – What It Takes

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in automotive service, vehicle retrofitting, robotics, or a related technical field

  • Experience using mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment

  • Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams

  • Comfortable working with AC/DC systems, connectors, and electronic modules

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in field-based environments

  • Strong attention to detail and a safety-focused approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electric vehicles or autonomous systems

  • Sensor installation or hardware integration experience

  • Soldering, crimping, or basic prototyping skills

  • Experience supporting testing, deployments, or fleet operations

Commitment

This is a full-time, 12-month contract role based in Austin, TX. Candidates must be local and available to work onsite.

Shift Options:

  • Morning Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Mon–Fri, with weekend availability)

  • Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Mon–Fri, with weekend availability)
